Sidmouth ? |
| Conferences, meetings, and events in this surprisingly attractive and still fashionable seaside town set beneath spectacular red-sandstone cliffs will appreciate its Regency and early Victorian buildings (once admired by a young Queen Victoria), with resort attractions in summer that include a mild climate, award-winning floral displays, esplanade, theatre and open-air concerts. Among nearby locations to experience are the Donkey Sanctuary, the South West Coast Path, Bicton Park and Gardens, and other appealing resorts (e.g. Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth). Venues include good value heritage-style resort hotels, other conference-minded hotels in the surrounding countryside, smaller characterful properties, as well as culture/historic settings.
Proximity to the Jurassic Coast (the 30-mile-long UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its fossils), historic Exeter (and the estuary port of Topsham – note the Dutch traders’ houses), as well as Dartmoor (nature, archaeology, etc.), are further plus points.
