Margate ? |
| Conferences, meetings, and events in this classic seaside resort will enjoy a combination of traditional resort experiences – beaches, year-round entertainments, amusements, casino etc. – but also an emerging cultural quarter in the Old Town, the special collections and gardens at the Powell Cotton Museum, and scope to enjoy ‘cool’ water sports (e.g. kite boarding, surfing, jet-skiing). Coming in 2008 is the Turner Contemporary Centre for Visual Arts. Venues include smaller good-value resort hotels and one-off cultural settings.
Proximity to historic Canterbury, additional Kent resorts at Broadstairs and Ramsgate, the ‘oyster’ town of Whitstable, and the Kentish ‘garden of England’ countryside are further plus points. Conference delegates can access Margate easily via the A2/M2/A299, by train, using cross-channel ferries (and Eurotunnel), and through flights into one of London’s airports.
