Set in beautiful grounds of the Heriot-Watt University campus, Edinburgh Conference Centre offers year-round facilities for major international conferences, exhibitions, sales presentations, product launches, management and training events, gala dinners and award ceremonies.

Our flagship facility is the James Watt Centre, a purpose built conference and exhibition venue comprising of two dynamic and distinctive interlinking conference centres under one roof.

James Watt Centre I accommodates an impressive well equipped tiered auditorium for up to 600, versatile breakout rooms each with the ability to sub-divide and extensive poster display walkway and spacious social area.

Whilst James Watt Centre 2 provides 1000sqm of exhibition space which can easily be adapted to house cabaret style meetings for up to 224 and private dining for up to 500. The centre has a private entrance, dedicated reception desk and large lounge.

The Centre also offers a range of well appointed meeting rooms year round - The Cedar, Oak and Beech rooms, all of which offer attractive views of the natural woodland. Available all year these rooms accommodate 50, 30 and 30 delegates respectively, with the Cedar and Oak rooms interconnecting to create a larger meeting space for up to 90 delegates.

For additional flexibility organisers can incorporate the vacation only facilities which comprise of four lecture theatres seating from 100 to 300 delegates and over 30 academic seminar rooms. The Lecture Theatres are also available during the evening and weekends in term time.

Full conference support services are available in the form of a dedicated team of conference co-ordinators offering conference organisers continuous support and a high level of personal care.

Edinburgh Conference Centre also offers the convenience of specialist support from services based at Heriot-Watt University including language interpretation services and a dedicated media studio providing extensive audio-visual support.

Catering is one of the most memorable aspects of any event, from making sure the coffee arrives on time to putting the final touches to your conference dinner the centres friendly and experienced banqueting team will ensure everything goes to plan.

During the academic term, ensuite accommodation for 165 delegates is available on campus. This extends to over 900 rooms at vacation time. Rooms are serviced daily and have ensuite shower and toilet, telephone and internet connection and tea/coffee making facilities. The campus is self-contained and compact which means that at the end of a busy day delegates have only a short walk to their accommodation.

Edinburgh Conference Centre has much to offers its guests during their stay, including a choice of three catering outlets bar, shop, hairdressers, bank and bookshop. For the more energetic visitor, the sport and exercise centre offers the latest fitness equipment, squash, tennis and badminton courts and jogging circuit. Exploring one of campus trails or the magnificent sunken gardens provides guests with a more relaxing alternative.

Located on the doorstep of one of Europe's most exciting cities, ECC is three miles from Edinburgh Airport, six miles from the city’s central coach and train terminals and just minutes from the dual carriageway of the Edinburgh city by-pass, connecting directly with Scotland motorway networks. There is ample parking available on site and excellent public links to the city centre which operates 24/7.
