| Conferences, meetings, and events will appreciate the town’s cotton-weaving heritage (‘King Cotton’), its gritstone buildings, markets and mill shops, and its two historic houses: 14th-16th century Towneley Hall, Art Gallery and Museum; and the Jacobean manor house of Gawthorpe Hall (including displays of textiles and needlework). Conference delegates can reach Burnley easily using the M65 or A59/A56, by train, and through flights into Leeds-Bradford or Manchester airports.
