Towcester ? |
| Conferences, meetings and events in a county which officially promotes itself for ‘adrenalin as well as tranquillity’ will find this ancient road junction town (on the Roman Watling Street) close to Towcester Racecourse (recently upgraded at a cost of £7.5m), Silverstone (more than 40 motor racing events each year, as well as fast driving experiences), and the Santa Pod Raceway (Wellingborough), home of European Drag Racing. Venues include a nearby country hotel and spa together with the excellent conference and exhibition facilities at the racecourse.
Proximity to historic Northampton (note the shoe fashions on display in the museum; and Derngate – England’s only Charles Rennie Mackintosh house), to the waterways centre at Stoke Bruerne (canal heritage, narrow boats, and museum) and to a range of top attractions (e.g. Castle Ashby Gardens; Sulgrave Manor; Kirby Hall) are further plus points. Conference delegates can reach Towcester easily using the M1/A43, by train (Northampton plus taxi), and through flights into the airports of Birmingham, Nottingham East Midlands, and London Luton.
In conclusion: Towcester is a ‘meet in the middle’ destination that offers a choice of thrill-based and cultural pursuits, and couldn’t be easier to get to!
