This fine building was constructed in the 1630’s as a farmhouse for the nearby Kirby Castle and its inhabitants. It replaced another farmhouse on the same site which had probably dated back into the middle-ages. The noble Kirby Castle at one time possessed an additional tower which was demolished in the 18th Century and the bricks were used in the repair of the farmhouse, so further adding to its character and historical charm. A century’s old farming tradition ended when the estate was sold in 1918. Later becoming The Castle Hotel, tales of secret underground passages from the Castle to the Hotel were confirmed when one was discovered in 1975.

The Castle Hotel is an ideal venue for residential and non-residential conferences, exhibitions and meetings of all types. Our Function Room Manager will be pleased to offer every assistance to the Conference Organiser, with the provision of any necessary equipment to ensure meetings run smoothly. The function room is also ideally suited to weddings and family celebrations.
