A Coruna ? |
| Conferences, meetings, and events will identify the strong maritime traditions of this intriguing destination at the western end of the north coast of Spain: see, for example, the still-used Roman lighthouse, the 19th century glass facades and balconies of buildings overlooking the port, the seafood cuisine, and the Finisterrae Aquarium. Attractions also include the Old City, the connection with Picasso who lived here (1891-5), the House of Sciences, and the Archaeological Museum. Venues include a dozen three- to five-star hotels (most are specialist conference properties), cultural/heritage settings, as well as Coruna Conference Centre (seating to l500).
Proximity to Santiago de Compostela (medieval/Baroque city and landmark on St. James route for pilgrims), Betanzos (history and art), and Noia (where the key buildings adopt a ‘maritime gothic’ style) are further plus points. Conference delegates can reach this area easily using international and domestic flights into Coruna and Santiago airports, and by train.
In conclusion: Coruna is a destination in a distinctly green part of Spain, but with the added options of culture, maritime traditions, and nearby Christian Heritage.
