Glenlo Abbey is Galway’s only 5 Star Fáilte Ireland Hotel and is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Ireland’s Blue Book. Sitting on its own lake side golf course estate, Glenlo Abbey is the perfect retreat for small to medium sized meetings and conferences with 9 meeting rooms that can accommodate from 2 to 160 pax theatre style. There is a choice in dining from the intimate Abbey which can accommodate 30 persons privately, to the River Room for 70 and the very unique Pullman Restaurant aboard the Orient Express which can take 66 persons for a dining experience not found anywhere else in Ireland. The Pullman Restaurant is two carriages from the original Orient Express and is truly Ireland’s most unique dining concept.
Regarding conferencing at Glenlo Abbey, all our 9 meeting rooms have free wi-fi and all the comforts and mod cons one would expect from a deluxe standard meeting venue and hotel. Our 46 bedrooms and suites are tastefully decorated with generous space, direct dial telephone, wi-fi, plasma screen tv’s, working desk, pants presser, safe and all other amenities requested from a deluxe hotel.
The level of service at Glenlo Abbey is attentive yet unobtrusive, and being a family owned and run Hotel, it is our intention to give honest, friendly service. From planning your event, to attending your meeting and departing for home, you will have close personal care at all times.
Galway is literally 5 minutes drive away and being the hub of an exciting and diverse mix of industry and R&D within the medical, technical and industrial worlds, it is an excellent City to visit and meet with like minded colleagues within ones business. The City is also home to the National University of Ireland, Galway and also the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.
Culturally, Galway is a wonderful place to visit as it is Ireland’s Cultural Capital and is home to many festivals during the year, namely the Galway Arts Festival in July, the Galway Races in July and August and the Galway Oyster Festival in September. Outside of these months there is plenty of activity in the arts and cultural worlds especially in theatre and music. Further West you will come across Connemara which is a large national park made famous by movie classics such as The Quiet Man with John Wayne and most recently, The Field with Richard Harris. Other notable and beautiful places to visit include the Aran Islands, the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. To incorporate a visit to one of these places would certainly make your conference or meeting, one to remember and we can assist you in your selection. As regards activities, there are many things to do on site including golf on our own course, a driving range where we have a PGA pro to give individual and group tuition, fishing, clay pigeon shooting and lake boating. Nearby there is horse riding, water sports, hiking, tennis and many more activities and sports.
With all of this and more in Galway and the services of Glenlo Abbey Hotel at your disposal, your meeting will spell success! |
